Welcome to Healing

About Me

My name is Jeli (pronounced yellie) and for the better part of my life I have experienced and self-healed from several major health issues including an acute duodenal ulcer (1988), severe dairy intolerance (1994), IBS/Chrohn’s Disease (2004), and severe psoriasis (2015). With each of these major health issues, I also experienced less-threatening issues such as yeast infections, hair loss, itchy skin, rashes, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Most importantly, each of these major health issue happened when I was experiencing elevated levels of stress.

Every time I went to get help from doctors none of them would admit or even consider that the major issues and less threatening issues might be related. One dermatologist even laughed at me when I suggested that my yeast infections, elevated GI discomfort, hair loss, and psoriasis might all be related. I didn’t let them stop me from exploring these issues as I knew they had to be connected. It is statistically improbable that several unrelated issues would just all of a sudden happen at once. And elevated stress was always a key element when my health problems would crop up.

So despite every vague diagnosis followed by a dire prognosis, I passed on all the prescription drugs, surgeries, and chemotherapy and pressed on in search of real answers. I was and still am reluctant to blindly follow “doctor’s orders” because if doctors can’t tell me what is causing the problem, then how can they be so sure of how to properly address it? I was not and never will be ready to just give up on myself and give in to the notion that chronic pain or illness can’t be healed. Not treated but HEALED.

Then it finally dawned on me. I am the solution I have been searching for.

Mental and physical wellness is the body’s natural state. Our job is to manage our mental and physical environments.

The two key pathways for healing:

  • Balancing your gut, and
  • Balancing your emotional energy.
You Are What You Eat – Clearing Candida Overgrowth and Balancing the Gut Microbiome

Every time I was sick I knew instinctively that I had to change my diet. Each time I tried something a little different but each time I ate ‘clean’, and as a result my diet morphed over the years to consist mostly of vegetables, fruits, nuts, seafood, eggs, and dairy with very little sugar or processed foods. There is no surprise that eating a healthy, fresh, low sugar, unprocessed diet is critical to everyone’s good health.

While struggling with severe psoriasis, I surfed dozens of websites before I found something called the Candida diet. When I read the list of symptoms related to Candida overgrowth due to gut microbiome imbalance, it read like a personal health diary. There is even a confirmed connection between Candida and autoimmune disorders. I was floored.

The Candida diet was about eating ‘clean’, but on a whole new level. This was new territory for me. I combined several different Candida diet lists of specific foods and supplements and decided to give it a try, meaning that I gave up all processed foods, most grains, and any sugars that are not naturally occurring. I also cut out fruits and roots that are particularly high in sugar and starch, and I made sure to eat plenty of natural probiotic foods and take anti-candida herbs.

My Candida diet worked! In six weeks, I was symptom free and lost 10 lbs. It was a miracle!

Then it came back. Yes, after about a year the psoriasis and other symptoms came raging back. It was obviously stress and Candida again so I immediately embarked upon another diet regimen of six weeks eating only select veggies, nuts, and meats, and taking herbal supplements. I powered through that diet and again and I was in the clear.

Then with increasing frequency Candida kept coming back, again and again because despite restoring my gut microbiome with the proper diet and supplements, once I would feel great I would go straight back to the habits and behaviors that disrupt the gut microbiome.

Balancing Energy in Your Body by Releasing Trapped Emotions

What was making me go back to those old habits and routines when I knew they would sabotage my good health? I WAS! Ongoing stress and trapped emotions were behind the self-defeating beliefs and behaviors I had wrestled with over the years. Yes, I could continue to fight Candida, but I finally realized that stress and painful emotions that I had buried over time were at the root of my illnesses. The energy of trapped emotions, or subconscious traumas, creates a two-pronged root that feeds illness.

  1. Trapped emotions can subconsciously drive us towards unhealthy thoughts and behaviors.
  2. Trapped emotions can also keep us in an unhealthy energy state which makes our bodies hypersensitive and over-reactive, resulting in sensitivities, ailments, and autoimmune disorders.

Bottom line, I was making me sick.

So I got to work. It was time for me to get real with myself and that meant dealing with all that energy and emotions trapped inside me.

Practicing meditation, yoga, qigong, and the Emotion Code have helped me on my path to healing.

Releasing negative energy helps put the body in a condition to heal and stay well.  Occasional sessions that release trapped emotions and blocked energy are best complimented by the routine practice of meditation, yoga, and qigong to help maintain energy flow, internal calmness, and a positive disposition.

Staying the course of healthy eating and energetic balance is key because stress will happen again. Life is full of unexpected and uncontrollable situations.

The only thing you can control is yourself.

Staying in a healthy physical and mental state will lessen the impacts of life’s upsets and hurdles.
