Impatiently Seeking Patience – Managing Expectations as a Health Strategy

Expectation can be so delightful when you know something wonderful awaits you. This is when expectation is like a flirtatious tease keeping your mind swirling in ecstatic anticipation. In these moments expectation can be downright intoxicating.

Unfortunately, those intoxicating moments of excitement are few and far between. Instead, most of us are more familiar with the flip-side of expectation, impatience.

Every single one of us is impatiently waiting for something whether it be recognition, love, money, health, happiness, understanding, peace in our lives, or even peace on earth. 

We are all waiting for that moment, that experience, or that life shift. We all want something, and we want it now!

Oh impatience, you truly have to be one of the greatest dis-eases of all time.

Letting unmanaged expectations, and ultimately impatience, run wild is dangerous to your health. When you aren’t managing expectations, feelings of anxiety, defeat, depression, disappointment, fear, and hopelessness can all result. Every single one of these emotions burden our minds and stress our bodies.

In short, unmanaged expectations are making us sick and driving us crazy.

We are killing ourselves with impatience.

Whatever you may be waiting for stay positive and accept that everything truly does happen in due time. Take this moment to reflect on how unmanaged expectations are affecting you. Now put perspective and patience into action.

For a healthy and happy life, managing expectations should be part of everyone’s overall health strategy.
